Leadership ClevelandSincere thanks for your interest in Leadership Cleveland. The program started in 1977 by the former Greater Cleveland Growth Association and has 1,500 alumni. Leadership Cleveland was one of the first civic leadership programs in the country and has received national recognition for its curriculum and alumni activities. In 2002, we completed a strategic plan and integrated focus projects into the curriculum. Our updated mission statement reflects this change: To build and strengthen regional leadership through networking, education, partnerships and service learning for the purpose of improving the quality of life in Greater Cleveland. Each year, we receive close to 200 applications for the program and accept a class of approximately 65 participants. If you are not asked to join the Class of 2011, we strongly encourage you to re-apply. Criteria for Selection- Candidates should have demonstrated civic leadership.
- Candidates should be established leaders within their profession.
- Candidates should be willing to contribute time, talent and/or financial resources to the community in the years ahead.
- Candidates must have the full support of the organization or corporation where they are employed. Candidates must be nominated by the head of the organization they represent.
Selection ProcessCandidates must submit their application for the Class of 2011 by April 2, 2010.
