Join us for the first Accountability Work Group meeting of the new year on Tuesday, January 26th at 4:00pm. At this meeting we will discuss meeting times, frequency, and the 2021 agenda including qualified immunity, community accountability, and de-escalation / use of force. The work group is open to the community.
About the Work Group:
The CPC Accountability Work Group uses law enforcement best practices to develop proactive and preventive policy recommendations designed to reduce officer misconduct locally in Cleveland. The safety of both the community and police officers who serve the community is the primary concern of the recommendations developed by the work group. The goal of the recommendations is to improve current Cleveland Division of Police (CDP) policies and procedures to adequately reduce or eliminate the deficiency of “insufficient accountability” found by the Department of Justice in 2014.
