See the AIDS Memorial Quilt
November 20 @ 8:00 am - December 5 @ 8:00 pm
The AIDS Memorial Quilt is an ongoing legacy and memorial for those who have lost their lives to AIDS-related illnesses. Founded in 1987, The AIDS Memorial Quilt is the largest piece of ongoing community art in the world. It is too big to be displayed in one place at one time. Friends, family and lovers of people who have passed continue to make beautiful panels to add to the 48,000 panels sewn in already.
The Quilt will be on display in the Rammelkamp Atrium and Outpatient Plaza November 20 – December 5, 2017.
You can also attend the closing reception on Tuesday, December 5 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and fellowship as we close out our time with the Quilt. We may even have a few musical surprises for you. The reception will be the only time panels newly created during our workshop will be displayed individually before we ship them to Atlanta to be sewn into the world-traveling AIDS Memorial Quilt. Parking validated. No RSVP necessary.
You can also see the Quilt on the east side at the VA Medical Center. They will have a Quilt Ceremony on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 1:00 p.m., and the Quilt will be on display.
