The Legacy of George Floyd

May 6 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Thursday, May 6 Live Stream 12-1pm

This live streamed event humanizes George Floyd and shows the nature and magnitude of
his family’s devastating loss while addressing systemic racism, the power of protest and how
each of us can help bend the arc of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “moral universe” toward justice.
Skillfully and intelligently moderated by scholar and activist Nyle Fort, this unique and
powerful experience featuring George’s Aunt Angela and Uncle Selwyn has been shared
with 26 other colleges and universities.

“Powerful testimonies all around. The personal storytelling — both in the immediate experience
of the family members as well as reflections on the long-term problem — was compelling.”
— North Park University
“Much needed and inspirational!”
— Suffolk County Community College
“Our students, staff, faculty and even trustees were deeply moved. I think [the presenters]
planted seeds in open minds and hearts last night.”
— Marist College
