DESCRIPTION:The CLC Alumni Committee invites you to join us at the 14th annual Cleveland Kurentovanje Festival. \nSaturday\, February 14\, 2026\nSlovenian National Home\n(6409 Saint Clair Ave\, 44103) \nAbout Cleveland Kurentovanje\nCleveland Kurentovanje (koo-rehn-toh-VAHN-yeh) is a multi-day “Slovenian Mardi Gras” festival\, celebrating the end of winter and the beginning of spring. Founded in 2012\, it is a multi-day festival filled with cultural and festive events\, culminating  in a Parade & Festival celebration on Saturday complete with costumes\, ethnic food and drink\, musical and cultural performances\, and Kurents — mythical creatures who are believed to chase away winter and usher in spring. \nThree ways to join the fun\nCLC Volunteers Event Set-Up (FRIDAY)\nFEB 13  |  10 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.\nJoin the CLC alumni volunteer team to assist with event set-up. Email Christy to sign up. \nCLC in the Parade (SATURDAY)\nFEB 14  |  11 a.m. meet\, Noon parade\nThe Kurentovanje parade is the highlight of a weekend of festivities. The procession will include Kurenti\, as well as groups in traditional ethnic costumes\, bands\, dance squads\, local small businesses and non-profit organizations\, and groups of friends and family dressed in costume. Register to join the CLC group in the parade. Guests and children welcome! \nGeneral Event Volunteers\nCleveland Kurentovanje depends on volunteers to make this event possible. Register to volunteer with event set-up\, hosting stations at the event and more. The judges select one pitch from each of the five categories to proceed to the Finals. The five finalists pitch on the main stage to hundreds of audience members who vote for the winner. The winner takes home $5\,000 and the four runners-up each receive $2\,000.\n\n\nTeen Accelerate: Ten presenters pitch to the Teen Accelerate judge panel who selects the winner ($1\,000) and runner-up ($500). The remaining eight presenters each receive $250. The winner and runner-up presenters are announced on the main stage after the five Core Accelerate Finalists pitch. \n\n\n\nTechnovation Accelerate: Five presenter pitch to the Technovation judge panel who selects the $3\,500 winner who is announced on the main stage after the five Core Accelerate Finalists pitch.\n\n\nContact Courtney Chaney with questions at (216) 592-2243.
