Service Breaks bring college and graduate students to Cleveland for a week of community immersion and service during school breaks.
Hear from nonprofit leaders and take part in hands-on volunteer projects at a variety of nonprofits across Cleveland to gain a comprehensive understanding of the region’s challenges. Spend time with long-time local residents and families, community leaders and entrepreneurs. Shadow local executives and learn about career opportunities in Northeast Ohio. Stay at the Cleveland Hostel, located in Ohio City, one of Cleveland’s nationally-renowned and most vibrant neighborhoods.
Tuition for the full week is $400 and includes:
- All direct service coordination including meetings, tours and career shadows.
- Housing accommodations for the week.
- Bus / RTA pass (if own transportation is not provided).
- Community meals/groceries.
After completion of the program, you’ll also become part of the over 7,000-member CLC Alumni network, which includes Cleveland’s most innovative, creative and accomplished leaders
The program is open to any college student, either graduate or undergraduate (age 18-25).
While customizable, Service Breaks usually take place over five days and six nights – four days of service and immersion, and a one-day career shadow. Time is also allotted for recreational activities
