Deep insight into critical issues

In recognition of the powerful legacy of Carl and Louis Stokes, Cleveland Leadership Center and Cuyahoga Community College present the Stokes Civic Leadership Institute. A highly selective program for established and rising leaders, Stokes Civic Leadership Institute provides insight into critical problems facing our community and challenges participants (Stokes Fellows) to develop the collaborative skill set needed to address these issues.

The Stokes CLI cohort is comprised of 40 rising leaders and 20 senior-level leaders, who will offer their guidance and support to the development and maturation of the Junior Fellows, resulting in a rising generation of diverse leaders poised to assume leadership roles in all aspects of the community.

From October 2017 through June 2018, the Stokes Fellows will take a deep dive into the areas of education, workforce development, housing, health and public safety and will work closely with the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Humanities Center and its scholars to design and deliver forums that educate the larger community on these issues and guide understanding of how the community can collaborate on solutions.
