About Cleveland Kurentovanje
Cleveland Kurentovanje (koo-rehn-toh-VAHN-yeh) is a multi-day “Slovenian Mardi Gras” festival, celebrating the end of winter and the beginning of spring. Founded in 2012, it is a multi-day festival filled with cultural and festive events, culminating in a Parade & Festival celebration on Saturday complete with costumes, ethnic food and drink, musical and cultural performances, and Kurents — mythical creatures who are believed to chase away winter and usher in spring.
Three ways to join the fun
CLC Volunteers Event Set-Up (FRIDAY)

CLC in the Parade (SATURDAY)
FEB 14 | 11 a.m. meet, Noon parade
The Kurentovanje parade is the highlight of a weekend of festivities. The procession will include Kurenti, as well as groups in traditional ethnic costumes, bands, dance squads, local small businesses and non-profit organizations, and groups of friends and family dressed in costume. Register to join the CLC group in the parade. Guests and children welcome!

Cleveland Kurentovanje depends on volunteers to make this event possible. Register to volunteer with event set-up, hosting stations at the event and more. Note: General event volunteers are organized and managed directly by the Cleveland Kurentovanje organization.
