We’re hiring! We’re looking for a Director of Alumni Engagement

The Director of Alumni Engagement is a NEW position responsible for leading the development and execution of a strategic engagement plan that will activate the full potential of the 11,000+ alumni across all CLC programs.

Primary Responsibilities

The Director’s overarching responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Alumni Engagement
    • Designing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive, multi-year alumni engagement strategy aligned with CLC’s mission and vision that will:
      • Mobilize alumni around key civic issues and leadership opportunities through curated events, affinity groups, service initiatives, and strategic communications.
      • Promote cross-program and cross-sector connectivity to strength
  • Community Building and Network Activation
    • Building an active, visible, and inclusive alumni community that fosters collaboration, shared learning, and collective civic action leading to systems change.
    • Serving as a connector between alumni and opportunities to influence, innovate, and lead within CLC and the broader civic sphere.
    • Encouraging and supporting alumni in pursuing initiatives, joining civic boards, and shaping public dialogue on Cleveland’s future.
  • Partnerships and Collaboration
    • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to align alumni engagement with CLC programs, events, and priorities.
    • Serving as a liaison between alumni and civic, business, and nonprofit stakeholders to create opportunities for collective impact.
  • Communications and Storytelling
    • Overseeing alumni communications, including newsletters, social media content, profiles, and impact stories that celebrate alumni leadership and inspire action.
    • Developing messaging and materials that elevate alumni voices and position them as visible changemakers in the region.
  • Data, Metrics, and Evaluation
    • Maintaining and leveraging alumni database to inform outreach strategies and track engagement trends.
    • Defining and reporting on KPIs that measure engagement, influence, and impact, using insights to continuously refine efforts.
  • Leadership and Culture
    • Serving as a thought partner to organizational leadership on alumni strategy, civic engagement, and regional transformation.
    • Representing CLC at public forums, events, and alumni gatherings to amplify the organization’s presence and influence.
