LookUp School Year
The LookUp school year program consists of an overnight opening retreat and six full weekday sessions. It is open to students who will be high school juniors during the program year and is offered at no charge to students thanks to the generous support of local corporations, family foundations and individuals.
“LookUp gave me several opportunities to experience Cleveland in new ways and allowed me to understand my role as a leader, as well as gave me the skills to become a better one.”
— LookUp 2016 participant
Admission is through a selective application process for students who have demonstrated leadership ability, participated in school/community organizations and clubs, exhibited academic soundness, shown self-reliance and independence, and are able to take initiative. Students must complete an online application, supply two non-family references and commit to the attendance policies.
Sessions take place in and around downtown Cleveland and its neighborhoods. All session days begin and end in locations accessible by public transit; Greater Cleveland RTA passes are available to students who request them. Travel between sites each day is by foot or chartered bus.
Applications for the Class of 2017 are now closed. Applications for the Class of 2018 will open May 1, 2017. Candidates need school and parental approval to participate.
