Dr. Chris Kuhar (LC2 2015, LC 2014), Executive Director of the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, was named Chair of the Board of the International Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). The announcement was made at the organization’s annual conference last week, where the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo was granted accreditation by AZA.
In a quote in Cleveland Crain’s Business, the AZA President and CEO shared, “Dr. Kuhar is an intelligent, accomplished leader with a demonstrated commitment to saving animals from extinction.” … “His expertise in conservation issues and dedication to serving the AZA community makes him well-suited for this prestigious position. I am confident that Dr. Kuhar will succeed in this role and help our organization as a whole advance animal care and conservation.”
