Film Screening: Microplastic Madness

April 17, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The residents of northeast Ohio will have a unique opportunity to learn about the problems caused by plastic trash on April 17.

On that date, the Baldwin Wallace University Department of Sociology in conjunction with the Northeast Ohio Sierra Club and Sustainable Berea will screen Microplastic Madness.

The film depicts the experiences of a  fifth grade class in Brooklyn, NY as  they  explore what happens to plastic in the environment and then take steps to reduce plastic pollution in their community.   Through interviews with scientists and effective use of animation, the film introduces a lot of the science behind our  understanding of plastic  pollution.

This award winning film will be screened at 7 PM, April 17 in the Surrarrer Auditorium located in Telfer Hall on the north end of the Baldwin Wallace campus.

The screening is free and open to the public. A panel discussion concerning plastic pollution will follow the film.
