2023 cohorts of Cleveland Bridge Builders, OnBoard Cleveland named

Cleveland Leadership Center preparing leaders at all levels

The Cleveland Leadership Center, recognizing the importance of preparing, connecting, and inspiring leaders at all levels to work for a better region, has selected the 2023 cohorts of its Cleveland Bridge Builders and OnBoard Cleveland programs. Participants in both programs represent a variety of public, private, nonprofit, and governmental organizations.

Cleveland Bridge Builders will prepare the 62 mid-career professionals in the Class of 2023 for meaningful and impactful civic engagement. Sessions from September 2022 through June 2023 will cover topics such as emotional intelligence, implicit bias, power and influence, and collaborative leadership. Members of the class will be placed on teams to assist local community organizations in tackling specific initiatives through Leadership Action Projects. (See the CBB roster here.)

OnBoard Cleveland will bring together 17 young professionals in an immersion experience that enhances communications skills, builds awareness of the civic landscape and equity, and equips them to make a difference in their workplaces and across the community. Participants will meet from September 2022 to March 2023, when they present plans for their future civic involvement. See the (OnBoard roster here.)

“As our community continues to rise to face existing and emerging challenges, we need to be sure leaders at all levels are equipped with the skills, networks, and passion to be forces for positive and sustainable change,” said CLC President and CEO Marianne Crosley. “Bridge Builders and OnBoarders are important to the continuum of leaders we strive to develop each year. They are our future – and they also are having great impact on our present.”

On June 8, the Leadership Center announced the 65 senior-level leaders who will participate in the Leadership Cleveland Class of 2023. Participants in Leadership Cleveland, Cleveland Bridge Builders, and OnBoard Cleveland were selected during a competitive application process. Applications for the next cohorts of each program will be available in February 2023. Visit www.cleveleads.org for details.

Other CLC programs engage civic leaders across the career spectrum, from high school students in the Look Up To Cleveland program to college students (Campus Cleveland), retirees (Legacy Leaders) and adults of any age (Civic Leadership Institute). Enrollment is open now for the fall cohort of Civic Leadership Institute, which starts in October.

CLC also presents the annual Accelerate: Citizens Make Change civic pitch competition each February, and the Spark: Grit to Great symposium on innovation in leadership each September. Registration is now open for this year’s Spark on September 1, 2022.
