Bethia Burke (LC 2023)
President, Fund for Our Economic Future
As president of the Fund, Bethia brings critical analysis to Northeast Ohio’s most pressing challenges, works with diverse stakeholders to find common ground, and advances real solutions to drive a more equitable, growing economy. While the work of the Fund represents the collective contributions of the board and staff, Bethia’s leadership is evident in such efforts as The Paradox Prize, Where are the Workers?, and The Two Tomorrows. Bethia joined the Fund in 2010 and most recently served as its vice president before being elected as president in December 2019.
Bethia is a boomeranger; after growing up in Shaker Heights, she spent her early career in the greater Washington, D.C., area conducting cost risk reviews of major defense programs while earning her master’s degree in applied economics. She also spent a year teaching English to high school students in Epernay, France. Bethia is married with three young children, and joyfully spends much of her free time with her family or, somewhat less joyfully, doing laundry. In her extra moments, Bethia likes to read, specifically light, escapist, and preferably funny fiction, cook, especially unnecessarily complicated recipes, and run, though not particularly far or fast.
