In 2015 Allison Lukacsy-Love launched “Bus Stop Moves,” an arts and health initiative collaboration with The MetroHealth Systems, GCRTA, and the Healthy Cleveland Initiative encouraging riders to exercise while they wait for public transit. In February 2016, she pitched her vision of wrapping bus shelters with exercise illustrations and motivational health tips to challenge the Cleveland community to move healthy, reduce stress, improve mood and make use of idle time waiting for the bus at Accelerate 2016. She was a runner-up at the event, which earned her $2,000 to advance her idea.

Since then, Bus Stop Moves has secured over $10,000 in grants and in-kind services and has planted seeds for expanded programming throughout Ohio. Wraps with exercises on them continue to be added to RTA stops around the Cleveland area.

You can follow the project’s progress on the Bus Stop Moves Facebook page.
