Jody Bonhard, an alumna of the Cleveland Bridge Builders Class of 2017, has been named Director of Cleveland Bridge Builders. Rachel Ciomcia, who has been serving as the Cleveland Leadership Center’s Vice President of Strategic Engagement and Director of Cleveland Bridge Builders, will assume the role of Executive Vice President.

Ciomcia will remain CBB Director until the Class of 2019 holds its Commencement on June 13, 2019. Bonhard, who started at Cleveland Leadership Center April 17, 2019, will work alongside Ciomcia.

“We are fortunate that Jody is able to overlap Rachel’s tenure as Bridge Builders Director, so she can become fully immersed in the work to design and deliver our program for mid-career professionals,” said Marianne Crosley, CLC President and CEO. “We look forward to Jody’s contributions that will further enhance the program and its impact in years to come,” Crosley added.

Crosley said that in her new role, which takes effect July 1, Ciomcia will continue to expand the Leadership Center’s focus on evaluating its programs and impact on the community, will build strategic relationships with community partners, and develop customized programs to meet community needs.

“Rachel’s work is an expansion of the Leadership Center’s activity of the past few years,” Crosley said. “Business and community leaders are seeking ways to strengthen the civic engagement and impact of their organizations and of their team members. Rachel will work with them to design tailored experiences that meet their needs.”

Before coming to CLC, Bonhard served as Assistant Director for Alumni Chapter and Regional Programming at Case Western Reserve University. She has worked as a teacher, including with Teach For America. She earned her MBA from Brandeis University, Master of Education from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, and Bachelor of Arts degree from The Ohio State University. She has been serving on CLC’s Leadership Council and is on the Providence House PHriends Associate Board.

Ciomcia received her Master of Science in Social Administration from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University, and Bachelor of Arts from Ohio University. Before coming to CLC, she worked as a social worker at MetroHealth Medical Center and as a Program Coordinator at Care Alliance Health Center.

Rachel is a graduate of the CBB Class of 2010. She Chairs the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission Associate Board and is a member of the Board of Directors of the MetroHealth Foundation. She is a certified Tetra Map facilitator and has presented nationally on evaluation, impact, and engagement.
