Cleveland Bridge Builders Class of 2019 named

The Cleveland Leadership Center has named a diverse mix of nonprofit, for-profit and public sector leaders as the Cleveland Bridge Builders Class of 2019.

Cleveland Bridge Builders is a 10-month leadership program that prepares mid-career professionals of all ages for meaningful, fulfilling and impactful engagement in the community. The program provides a unique environment that fosters teamwork, growth and learning to create a transformative experience that promotes and supports participants for a greater role in the community.

“Bridge Builders is a catalyst for participants to make a greater civic impact. Through the program, they hone their leadership skills, increase their self-awareness, gain a greater understanding of collaboration, and develop personal civic visions,” said CLC President and CEO Marianne Crosley.

The highly interactive curriculum offers facilitated learning, experiential collaboration and interactive civic education that helps participants engage in self-discovery and build bonds with classmates and the extended Cleveland Leadership Center network.

Class members, who have diverse backgrounds, ages and perspectives that will enhance their experience together, will be divided into small teams to work with community organizations on Leadership Action Projects that address a unique need of the organizations. The experience enables class participants to immediately apply newly learned skills and approaches to civic leadership. The organizations are: Bike Cleveland, Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, Connecting for Kids, Fostering Hope, Maximum Accessible Housing for Ohio, New Avenues to Independence, PetFix Northeast Ohio, Skidmark CLE and WIRE-Net.

The program year begins with a retreat this September and concludes with commencement in June 2019. Graduates become part of a network of more than 800 CBB alums and more than 7,000 alums of all other Cleveland Leadership Center programs who are committed to making positive change in the region.
