College students to gain access to internships, careers

Hundreds expected at December 18 career fair and workshop event

Recent college graduates, college students in Cleveland for the holidays, and students on campuses across Northeast Ohio may land their next job or internship at the Campus Cleveland Winter Event & Career Fair on December 18, 2023, at Cleveland State University Student Center, 2121 Euclid Ave., Cleveland.

The event, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., will feature career readiness workshops, conversational lunches with a leader in a student’s field of study, and a career and internship fair with more than 60 employers.

Cost is $25 per student. Scholarships are available to cover the cost. Details and registration at www.cleveleads.org/ccwinter.

The event is presented by the Cleveland Leadership Center in partnership with the Greater Cleveland Talent Alliance.

“The goal is to connect local employers looking for talent with college students and recent graduates in the hopes that they will choose to start a career and build a life in Northeast Ohio,” said Nicole Canitano, Director of College & Young Professional Programs at the Leadership Center.

Local employers representing a diverse group of industries in the public, private, and non-profits sectors will be on hand looking to fill internships and entry-level positions. (See the list here).

Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne will welcome students and highlight the advantages Cleveland has over other cities for early-career professionals. Workshops will focus on the importance of networking, communicating effectively and memorably, interviewing in today’s world, and building a resume and LinkedIn profile. Students can also get a free professional headshot.
