Student service learning
Through a customized community engagement experience, students delve into issues such as housing, homelessness, food access, healthcare disparities, neighborhood revitalization and education. They explore these issues though meetings with nonprofit leaders and clients in neighborhoods across Cleveland, behind the scenes tours of local service organizations, small group conversations and hands-on experiences, such as sorting books at the Cleveland Kids’ Book Bank, cleaning the Red Line Greenway park, and writing poetry with men at a homeless shelter.
As a result, students learn what is being done to address the issues and how they can play a role.
The experience is customized to meet your desired outcomes for the project. Let us help you create a one-of-a-kind community immersion to educate and inspire your students as community leaders.
