Leadership trip: Berlin

CLC is partnering with Leadership Berlin to deliver a week of powerful programming punctuated by a few fun touristy experiences. The experience will be powerful and the connections and idea generation with our Berlin counterparts will be impactful and will likely yield positive collaborations for our community. Participants will engage in a wide variety of topics, from German politics, immigration, and education to the prison system, economy, international relations, and more! There is an optional trip at the end of the week to the Oktoberfest in Munich.

The draft agenda remains in flux as Leadership Berlin is eager to craft a trip experience that reflects participants’ interests.

The estimated costs are:

• Hotel $2,000 for the week (single occupancy – Sunday through Saturday) at the 25 Hour Berlin Bikini Hotel. If one is sharing a room, each pays approximately $1,000 for the week.
• Fees $2,500 (includes ground transportation and most meals).
• Optional add-on trip to Oktoberfest approximately $260.
• Airfare (varies depending upon Berlin or Munich arrival/return). Airfares are around $900 roundtrip. Currently, the best fares are out of Chicago or New York.
