State of Downtown: Optimism for the Future

November 10, 2022 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Like most urban downtowns throughout the nation, Downtown Cleveland is moving on from a period of instability triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic. Approximately 60% of downtown’s workforce has returned to the office, foot traffic has returned to nearly 80% of pre-pandemic levels, and more small businesses opened downtown over the course of the pandemic than closed. Recovery is palpable on the streets, visible at events and office buildings, and evident by the numbers.

Downtown Cleveland Alliance (DCA) is committed to supporting the long-term economic and social health of our downtown core as the region’s economic anchor. In 2021, Michael Deemer stepped into the role of CEO with a renewed focus on serving as an advocate for all of Downtown Cleveland’s stakeholders and a collaborative approach to attracting investment, workers, and residents to the city’s core.

Join the City Club to hear more from Michael Deemer about DCA’s work to keep Downtown Cleveland safe, accessible, vibrant, and engaging.
