Talent retention: minority flight
Team NEO recently analyzed census data from 2010 to 2019 to understand the demographics of people who move into or out of the Northeast Ohio region. Estimates show that minority residents disproportionately left the region over the past decade. With talent concerns across the nation, it is vital that talent retention and attraction strategies focus on minority groups and understand why they are leaving at such high rates. Organizations like Destination Cleveland and Greater Cleveland Partnership have been exploring the “why,” but the region as a whole still needs community action and dedication to retain and attract talent.
