Michelle wants to promote a love of reading and increase literacy rates among high-risk readers through an interactive platform that highlights books prominently featuring characters of color. Since February, Just Like Me Books has gone from one book and an idea to over 40 books and a growing customer base. They have a monthly newsletter that goes out to our subscribers and are active on social media. The Just Like Me website details their books and workshop topics. They are currently working to create more STEM-based literacy experiences for students.
