Julia has spent her summer collecting and donating 25,000 books to local nonprofits that provide books to low-income children. A few years ago, she learned Cleveland has one of the lowest literacy rates in the country – 61% of low-income children do not have any books in their homes. She told News 5, “That really upset me because I’ve always loved to read. I was like, ‘I really think I should do something. I have the ability to do something.”
