Leadership Center names OnBoard Cleveland Class of 2025

Program strengthens workplace, community skills

The Cleveland Leadership Center has selected the 2025 cohort of its OnBoard Cleveland program, which prepares, connects, and inspires early-career individuals on their journey to greater impact on their companies and communities.

A diverse group of public, private, nonprofit, and governmental employees in OnBoard 2025 will engage in interactive exercises that enhance leadership and communications skills, build greater awareness of the civic landscape, and explore new opportunities to make a difference.

“Leaders at all levels need to become equipped with the skills, networks, and passion to be forces for positive and sustainable change,” said CLC President and CEO Marianne Crosley. “OnBoarders are not just our future – they already are having great impact.”

Crosley noted that one key to OnBoard’s success is the diversity of the class, including 31% who identify as BIPOC and 19% as LGBTQ+. The median age is 28.

OnBoard is a key component of CLC’s efforts to develop the next generation of local leaders through unique learning and community engagement opportunities. Employers say the program has considerable impact on their organizations as well as on the individuals.

“Our colleagues get to develop their professional networks, hone leadership skills, and become further enmeshed in our community,” said Kip Bollin, Partner in Charge of Thompson Hine LLP’s Cleveland office and a Vice Chair of the CLC Board of Trustees. “The firm gets to hit fast-forward on the development of our colleague, while demonstrating our belief in their skills and potential.”

OnBoard is one of the Leadership Center’s suite of programs that build a continuum of civic leaders committed to our community’s excellence. On July 11, 2024,, the Leadership Center announced Leadership Cleveland Class of 2025 for senior-level leaders. CLC also has announced the Cleveland Bridge Builders Class of 2025 which engages mid-career professionals.

Other CLC programs include the Look Up To Cleveland program for high school students, Campus Cleveland for college students, Legacy Leaders for retirees, Civic Leadership Institute for adults of any age, and Advanced Leadership Institute which brings together three generations of leaders.

CLC also presents the annual Spark: Grit to Great symposium on innovation in leadership, which will be August 29, 2024; and the annual Accelerate: Citizens Make Change civic pitch competition which marks its 11th year on February 20, 2025.

Every Wednesday, CLC offers its free, virtual Leader Lunch Break series so anyone can learn about issues and happenings in an informal conversation with top leaders.
