Scott Skinner (CBB 2023, ALI 2021, CLI 2019)

Vice President – Development, The NRP Group LLC

Scott Skinner joined The NRP Group in 2018 and now serves as Vice President of Development and as Director of Public Policy. His responsibilities include deal origination, initial underwriting and due diligence, political approvals and community outreach for both market rate and affordable multifamily development projects in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. He also leads NRP’s federal advocacy work to promote policies that advance affordable housing development at the national level and has proven a thought leader in advancing policies at the intersection of housing and social determinants of health.

Prior to joining NRP, Skinner served as a writer for the San Francisco Chronicle, a Peace Corps volunteer in the country of Georgia, and a corporate fundraiser for a large nonprofit organization in Washington DC.

Born and raised in northern California, Scott earned a bachelor’s degree in English from San Jose State University and an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Scott is excited about NRP’s mission of developing homes that people can be proud of, regardless of income and is passionate about building mixed-income, mixed-use communities that benefit neighborhoods.

Scott is very involved in the Cleveland community; he serves on the Board of Neighborhood Family Practice and The May Dugan Center, and is a member of Cleveland Bridge Builders Class of 2023. He resides in the Ohio City neighborhood of Cleveland with his wife and infant son, and can regularly be seeing walking around the neighborhood with his dog, Sophie.
