Jacci and Joe pitched their idea to transform vacant spaces in Slavic Village into gardens and creative spaces that encourage community and neighborhood family involvement at Accelerate 2018. Their idea is now known as The Gertrude Art Gardens, which saw its first installation earlier this year – a mural of 25 beautifully painted doors. The artists at Elevate Gallery were behind the designs and Gold Plum, a local business is responsible for the installing and creation of the garden landscaping.
